I think new V12s and V10s etc are probably a thing of the past unfortunately except for mega-expensive niche cars. I'm more worried about the prospect that V8s may be displaced by V6s before too long.

I love to see them return to proper engines too, cylinders should be arranged 6 in a row. Having 12 might be just greedy though.
Jaguar should bring out a new straight 6 for a new sports car. They just sound so much better than V8s.

But I doubt it will happen.

Yes. I think the previous owners were worried about their carbon credentials but Tata hopefully don't need to be so PC.

And I always believed that anyone who could spring for a V12 didn't give a toss about the price of fuel.

Give me squishy seats too and I will be first in line.

The 12 is the best engine I have the fortune to work on, woul be nice if the works could make a looney small number production car. Just needs to be light as the V8 around 6 litres max and scream to 8000 with loads of bottom end torque , four cams, dry sump, forged pistons, 12 throttles coupled to a modern 7 speed box ..... Sorry I'll go and shut up in the corner and polish my trumpets

My V12's don't really bugger up the planet as much as a mad axe man in Peru with an a 80's moustache cutting down rain forests ! I can only drive one at a time !! He can cut 200 trees the time I get to Bury St Edmund s.

i always wondered, when they were in the same stable, if Jag would ever slip the Aston V12 into the X350. That would have been some car.

I don't think they'd ever be another V12 unit from Jag. The XE may well not be powered by a V8, as long as it's a straight six I wouldn't be too upset. If BMW and Merc are going smaller with turbo's I think we can see where things are headed.

Jaguar is a little bigger than TVR
