E46 M3 Wheel / tyre quandary
Discussion
Mainly thanks to the beards on the //m bargains thread, over Christmas I found myself somewhat poorer, and significantly gheyer.
However, I do now own an E46 M3 convertible.
Currently on OEM 19s with continentals, rears at about 3mm so not long for this world.
Wheels generally presentable-ish, not been refurbed, but all (!) have some kerbing.
Had been looking for options for getting the 19s refurbed (not straightforward to keep highly polished finish) and fit new rubber, but have detected on here a groundswell of preference for 18s over 19s.
Just wanted to explore this option a bit further. Remembering that (by definition) I am a tart, I have occasionally found the ride a bit crashy on the 19s, and whilst grip levels are high, have found that breakaway not entirely progressive. Was wondering if the slightly taller sidewalls on the 18s would have an influence here.
All thoughts appreciated.

Takes the sharp edges off the ride and finds better traction bothering the traction control less from my test drives. Went for the 18s on mine and had them refurbished in gunmetal, very happy with the look and finish, great for hiding the brake dust too
