Thought mine was fine

WRONG!

Just failed the MOT for fractured nearside rear spring

Cant understand how I didnt notice

Had mine replaced a few months back,they tend to break at the end of the spring where the coil diameter gets smaller,never noticed myself untill the car was up on the ramp where it sat ever so slightly lopsided.

New springs were £170 from bmw and its only a 10 minute job to fit them.

I have a set of eibachs for your car if need be ?

Came of my car only done a few hundred miles , then went into thourney for stage 2 remap had to sit in their waiting room for many hours and some kw's were on display , and of course gave in, got the credit card out, place the new kw3's in the boot and drove home thinking why am i so bad with impluse buying whistle

Had the eibachs sitting in the box in the workshop ever since wink

Just had the same problem... with both springs! Didn't even know they were snapped.

Unreal, isnt it?

Stuart at Forza West managed to get mine sorted at short notice (just as well with the MOT getting V short!)

Had a look at the knackered spring - not a pretty sight, cant believe I've been driving it like that

i had a cracked one replaced under warranty by david holmes stockport - he changed the contralateral one too - said cos its an M car u cant change one on its own..suspect some warranty bashing going on!

Yeah, and on the (short) drive home I can't say it really felt any different - will have to take her for a more spirited drive to check :-)

Both springs had broken right at the bottom.
