CAPRI FORDSPORT SPEED DAY BRANDS HATCH MAY 1972
Discussion
Does any one remember or was present at Brands Hatch for the Above FORDSPORT DAY which was held on Sunday May 28th 1972 . The first Capri FordSport Day was held in 1970 at Brands and featured 20 3 Litre Capris , driven by such Greats as Hill, Stewart , Surtees, Vic Elford, The Late Great Piers Courage ( Who Won ) Chriss Craft, Ralph Broad, Frank Gardner and others .
It was a great success and a real Crowd pleaser and Ford returned in 1972 with 16 Black 3000E Models ,for 2 10 lap races , with Drivers includeing Lauda, Fittipaldi, Chapman , Hill, Gardner, Gerry Birrell, Denis Hulme, Dave Brodie, Vince Woodman, Bernie Ecclestone, Jeremy Walton ,Bill Stone, Tony Dron ( car no. 5) Vince Woodman, Francois Cevert . The races were apparently Very entertaining with Lauda and Fittipaldi haveing a great dice inc on and off the grass !
The cars were Auctioned off at the end with all of them suffering from panell damage.
Can anyone tell me more ?

Wasn't there and can't help on that front however have you used the DVLA car check system as the plates look consecutive, for example RWC 400K, still listed but not been taxed since 1988, if you did it for them all you might find one on the road / at least have a list of the cars that may have survived, you could then search for those cars by registration on various forums and maybe find some history on the first 'winner' (owner) of the car to help ?
