My money is on Suffolk/Norfolk for the pic in the thread, the second one is clearly the Wash between Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

Ah right. I'd like to see his other pictures too!

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I'm sure it'll probably get moved! hehe

I'm with you on that too. In the pic in the thread, you can see the rivers Stour, Orwell, and the other one I can't remember smile

Edited to add: The River Deben

Saw this in the times today, fantastic photo. NASA have been in touch with him asking how it was possible to take those photos hehe

Apparently they thought he was using rockets.

Man in shed + duct tape wins again.

Ductapium should be made part of the periodic table.

Brilliant stuff, shame he's not in a brown coat with a mop of unruly grey hair but you can't have everything.

So can anyone just launch a helium weather balloon like that or do you need to inform CAA & generate NOTAMs?

I really like this idea! nerd

Me too!

I'd love to put a camera on there with a video too, and better than a 7.1mp camera too!

Yep, with all the effort he put into that, he might want to invest in a good DSLR. Impressive pictures nonetheless.

BTW, getting the payload back isn't that certain. Sending a decent DSLR up could be an expensive mistake. Also there's only so much weight one of these can take.

I've always wanted to do something similar. IIRC you don't need permission either.
