Had a amusing but still shocking behavouir from one my competitors. Basially we run a pretty successful online business and one of our nearest rivals doesnt seem to like the fact we are doing well and that we selling few items he sells cheaper. This is not deliberatly its just the way we source and sell so its large volume at low prices. Wont go in to detail, but recently he sent down SOMEONE to have a chat to me. Person in question met me while i was going to my car in the car park. I mean it was pretty civil chat but underlying it with a threat.

Bottom line, all sorted as i have friends of friends who mix with these type of people but truly shocked at some peoples behavouir, anyone experienced such a thing?

Get someone to DDS their website for a few hours.

Threatening you is highly un-professional even if it was only infered (sp) is their no legislation in place to deal with this kind of situation.

Maybe it was not meant that way.

From what you have said it might have been:

"Look, if it is a price war you are after, then fair enough, we'll run you into the ground unless you raise your prices, that would be easier, no?

That is pretty innocuous, although you might read more into that.

What exactly was said?

Exact words i dont recall but let me describe the situation, im the tallest person in the world, 5'10. Guy was 6'2, 6'3. Dressed in all black. Built like a tank and supposedly works in security.

At one point he said something along the lines:
"If we have problem we normally send some guys round who deal with it, i never come myself but because you seem like a nice guy from the people i have talked to its better coming from me first and this is the last time you will see me................................."

Take it how you will guys but seems like a threat.

Thing to remember with the Mafia is that it isn't personal, it's just business.

Might be worth flagging up to BIB just as a precaution. They'll not do anything but will at least record it should anything else occur.

Do this absolutely.

At least when you go missing they will have a lead. And let competitor know you have informed BIB.

No violence involved. With these type of people its all about who you know.........so just a gentle phone call was made.

Just to let you know i am not wannabe "gangsta". Just a 29 year old law graduate who set up a succesfull business and minds his own business and works hard. Fortunetly i have friends who are 'connected' to solve such issues.

This sounds like an episode of sopranos!

In no way will i put at risk what i have built up, so attacking there website, violence is not the way i will go. Like i said i have phone records, texts etc incase the BIB need to get involved.
