Toll cost how much?.

Planning my trip to LeMans anyone got any idea of toll cost for the trip.
I am going via Rouen Dover to Calais N138 ROUTE PLANNER states around 5 hrs.

Exactly what trout are you taking, from calais the motorway is free for a while then a section which I think costs 6 euro's after that it is free all the way to rouen, after that you have a choice, keep on the motorway and it is further and the tolls will be about 20 euro's, or use the N138, shorter, quicker much nicer and plenty of places to stop.

The choice is yours, motorway may be faster but it is so boring that you will think it has taken hours longer

Assuming you go Calais, Boulougne, Abbeville, Rouen, Le Mans using as much autoroute as you can, then expect to pay about £50.

Mine came to about £45 last year, so add a bit for price increases and exchange rate changes.

Dunkirk - Le mans - £50 there and back. You can alternatively plan your route avoiding tolls altogether.

Do the toll prices change for bikes vs cars?

This year I am joining a few friends but going by bike slightly later than they are. Also I have bought the Tele peage beeper thing to make life easier.

i think i'll have one of our convoy (all 20 of us) to set the satnav to avoiding tolls, more picturesque and cheaper

Not as far as I'm aware, no.

Definitely no cheaper.

Also watch out for the police doing spot checks at the tolls at night...happened to me three times in six overnight trips to Le Mans simply because they had nothing else to do and I was the only person around.

Prices today, one way in a car -

Boulogne to Abbeville was €7.30 and the A28 Rouen to Alencon was €15.00 - so even more to Le Mans itself.
(In fairness the A28 price was last week, as I came back up the N138 this morning.)
