I know a chap who spent over £20k in one night at a lapping establishment.
Cost him his job at the time, and was instrumental in getting him his next one.

Apologies. I made that sound far more exciting and intriguing than it was. Would love to be able to say he was hired by the club to buff and wax the girls between dances, but sadly that didn't happen.

Simply put, he tried to expense the bill, employer (stock broker) at the time refused to pay and told him to pay it himself. He was miffed (had been entertaining some valuable clients), so he put the word about that he'd been screwed.

Long story short, a more enlightened company offered him a job and picked up the lapping tab.
