I think I need to get the alignment checked/corrected on the Aston, I am looking for a good place that does very accurate 4 wheel laser alignment in the Winchester area, does anyone recommend anywhere? I cannot be bothered to drive over to my dealer for a fleecing!

Down in Worthing - they have a Hunter alignment rig & the bloke that drives it knows what he's doing with it.

Are the Hunter machines worth paying the extra for? They seem to be doible the price of a standard 4-wheel alignment

Having done this before with the murci and gone to 3 different so called experts one after another (with state of the art laser equipment) and found that each centre finds the previous centre's settings to be miles out, I wouldn't bother. The all made the car track wrong.
The car was never right. Go to your main dealer and have them do. They are the only ones that'll get it right first time. Be worth paying a bit more.

No where near the same league but the main dealers (I have tried 4 now) cannot get the tracking right on my company car. Driving in a straight line and steering wheel points left. Useless.

Just thought of another place in Eastleigh that does the Laser thing, not far from the main Fire Station by the M3 but buggered if I can remember the name. I took a Tuscan there to get aligned and they did a great job yes

Yo Pete.

Thats actually very true. Some recommend weighting the car - my local pro-tyre said I needed a full tank, 75kgs in both front seats + 75kgs in the rear plus 25kgs in the boot...how often does that happed day to day?

Others say that is a nonsense. The only reason Im having it done is due to uneven tyre wear.

Micheldever isn't really proper alignment. I have never been that happy when getting my Porsches done there, on both cars I had to take it back for a double check after finding the steering not dead-on and the car pulling excessively to the left on the motorway. For tires they rock...but not for much else.

I agree Pete the dealer is the best bet, and there is an upside that I can have a hoon across to Chichester, but I am open to other recommendations. I am looking for a really anal place that can adjust the Shim fittings if required.

Neil, will give super tracker a call and see what they say.cheers..

It is a big job to do properly as you have to take the undertray off to get at all the settings

There's a place in Hook that has a Hunter Alignment machine - I've used them for the Skoda in the past.

Christchurch tyres have a hunter machine, quoted me £47 for a full camber/castor/toe alignment, but actually only charged around £40. (i did make sure all the bolts and nuts were unseized, and the alignment was not that far out)

One of the centre's whose tracking made my car pull terribly. Their settings were found out by Lambo London to be a mile out. A waste of £120 at Denmead.

(they did try their hardest, but just weren't up to the job)
A place in Fareham buggered it right up before hand. One wheel was slightly out due to touching a curb. They messed around with everything on all 4 corners.

Just to bump this, I went to SuperTracker today. Quick, friendly service, £35 +VAT but if you go take some cash with you, you might get a better deal wink

My drivers side front was way out!! Probably happened during my Advanced Performance Road Course last year when I left the runway at 85 MPH whilst doing a 90 degree right hand turn!

That could be Pro Tyre just off Woodside Avenue in Eastleigh, think they may be something to do with Micheldever Tyres.
