Radar Detector in Hand Luggage

I've got to catch a flight to Dublin today and I plan to take my new shiny Snooper S4 NEO GPS thingy. Am I likely to run into any trouble carrying this in my hand luggage?

There is no way it can be turned on as there is no power source but given the general jumpiness of the authorities, shoul I check it into the hold or just carry it in my hand luggage?

If they do query what it is and get 'funny' canI just ask them to put the bag in the hold from the security screening section?

I'd check it (if you have hold baggage). The problems at the security check are that they generally don't have any means of sending bags to the hold (that's the airline's job) and they tend to confiscate any suspicious items. Of course, YMMV - Streaky
