We parked near the castle. There's a one way street (with a fun little hairpin section) which runs around the castle. There's a car park up the top but we found a space a bit nearer the action further down on the same route. Think it was via dei castello and don't quote me on this but I think via dei musei was where the finish line was, just a couple of streets away. i wasn't there for the start so can't help you with that.
There are loads of other places you can view the cars. Pienza was my favourite as you can view the cars driving through the old town quite easily and it's not as busy as the big cities. Lots of pictures there in my photo's.
it's really easy to "chase the race" as I did because the whole route from Brescia and back is marked out with little red Mille Miglia arrows. Plus with so many cars taking part and chasing...you can follow them easily. It's really good fun and I would thoroughly recommend it. The route changes slightly every year but always goes through some stunning rural parts of Italy.
i want to go again now, Enjoy!
