Need to replace garmin Nuvi 770
Discussion
After a couple of years of faithful service it looks like my Garmin 770 could do with replacing ...... having a few problems with it 'seizing' ever so often & now the speed camera database seems to have disppeared ( been in communication with Garmin support, and even though they have been superb, we can't seem to get it sorted
)
Anyway, I'm looking for a decent reliable large screen sat nav which allows route plotting + has all the usuals like speed cameras, traffic etc.
The TomTom Go 750 live & 950 look interesting, but reviews on Amazon etc are not what you'd call glowing. Anyone actually have one of these units ?
Are the new garmins reliable / stable ? I do like my curent Garmin ....... big reason is the Good Pub Guide available for the Garmins which for me has been excellent
Can anyone recommend a decent unit ?.

I have a TT 950 - very pleased with it. My history has been Garmin 660, TT 920, TT 950. Garmin and TT are pretty much 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, but when I changed from the Garmin 660 to TT I found that routing was better from TT.
I am paying the £80 pa for Live services (though I think you can get 12 months free at the mo) and IME the traffic info is good. You get Google local search which can be useful.

The camera database is not that accurate; it is not unusual to see a camera which does not seem to be in the database. Personally, I find it is good enough to warn me about the odd camera which I might have missed. My old Garmin used to give warnings for every potential mobile camera site, and personally I found that infuriating: so many warnings that I turned off the warnings. With the Live system, you are supposed to get warnings only for mobile cameras which other users have marked as live within the last couple of hours.
I don't know the Garmin model you mention.
