I'm currently doing up a house and thought it might be worth visiting the Ideal Home Show to get a bit of inspiration.

Any one been? Is it worth it? Can you buy stuff their? Can you get bargains? I'm after a nice kitchen tap if nothing else!

Oh and how long does it take to get around it?

Cheers. smile

We've been a few times, skipped it this year to go to the Homebuilding and Rennovating one at the NEC instead.

For actually kitting out a home, the Ideal Home Ex' is pretty good, you can spend a good day in there.

My mate had just come back from there, he's spent £3k+ on a Breeze Home hehe

Personaly I think you are better going to your local industrial estate, as all it seemed to me couple of years ago was the major brands (incl B&Q!!!), lots of live 'shopping chanel style' sales men on things like vegatable cutters and super super super stong glue!
And you have top pay to see it all!

totaly not worth it IMO, better off going to the grand design show, more individual shops and interesting gadgets/ideas, all imo ofcourse smile

I went about three years ago and thought it was very average.....we were about to refurbish our house so were keen to look at all sorts of things but felt the quality of a lot of things there was pretty average.

If you wanted an outdoor Jacuzzi or a Massage Chair you would have been in luck. If you wanted to look at lots of different limestone floors or good quality wood flooring you wouldn't.

Last time I went, I managed to stuff myself on pie samples from the cooking demos,so on that basis, if you like pie, I'd say yes, worth a visit hehe
