I have a 2000 E39 M5 with 16:9 navigation but no phone. I'm looking to integrate my iPhone 3gs with iPod connectivity, where the iPhone can be mounted on the dashboard in order to use the TomTom navigation software. I'd also like to be able to control the iPod through the steering wheel controls and view the song titles etc. on the nav unit and also charge the iPhone. I'm aware that there are systems where iPods can be tucked away in the boot and connected via the CD changer like Intravee etc.

It seems the Dension systems are what I'm looking for - but anyone got any experience of them or alternatives?

have a look at Dice Electronics - I have one in my E38 7 series (no nav) and it works well.
