Account to Companies House - is a fax OK?
Discussion
Chaps,
Quickie,
I am a month late with submitting limited company accounts to Companies House. The penalty is therefore currently at 1 month (£150 I think).
I have submitted them, by post, but they have been rejected (I made a stupid mistake on them.)
I need to get a corrected set to them by the 28th ... Sunday. This clearly isn't going to happen, as I cannot post them now such that they will arrive there in time.
I can however fax them, and post a hard copy such that the hard copy will arrive on Monday (probably - if I can do a garunteed next day delivery on Saturday).
Will this be acceptable to them? Or will they still count them as having arrived after the due date, and thump me for another £300 (ouch!)
All advice welcomed.
Oli.
P.S. I'm in London. Cardiff is a bit too much of a jaunt for my liking over the weekend.

Eric,
Thanks, and thanks for replying to my (slightly desperate) PM.
Yes, the website says the same. BUT I can apparently file on-line using their secure web-filing service, which I always use for the Annual Return. Is that what you refer to when you talk about an XBRL format?
(I'm just working out how it works at the moment. Hmmm.)
A supplementary question. What's the difference between 'Called up share capital not paid' up and 'Allocated, called up and fully paid' share capital?
Thanks again.

OK, all done. On-line, on their Web Submission site.
(Techie bit coming up: for some reason it wouldn't submit properly from firefox, running on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic, but it did from Firefox on Windows. Problems with the Security Certificate, apparently. That's something for me to look into tomorrow, perhaps. Given that I am not now having to drive to Cardiff!)

Remind me - is delivery to a local office acceptable - I guess London in your case. Is it acceptable for post to be in a letter box at a local office ready for opening when the office is next open. Should be something on the site giving guidance - and if not it might be worth examining / trying.
But if its like HMRC offices all the letterboxes seem to be taped / sealed up due to constant changes of offices that are happening.
