Should Wheel Bearings already need changing after 37k?
Discussion
Gentlemen,
I'm taking my 111R MY04 to the dealer in tomorrow to see why at any speed when turning the wheel i get a rubbing / squeaking noise.
The cars done around 37k so should i expect to be changing wheel bearings already,... i've only had the car 7 months and its spent more time in the dealer than with me......
Im off at 9 am so any help between now and then would be good
Thanks

No, they're usually pretty good one the S2.
Obviously depeneds on the use though. If its spend 32k of that 37k on track then they'll be fooked.

I think i may have bought a track hack... seriously!
The dealership have done everything under goodwill or warranty so i'm not been out of pocket (other than taxi's) but this is becoming a joke.
No they shouldnt need replacing at that mileage. But then neither are they likely to be any different to any other wheel bearing in any other car. So it's either some specific problem relating to past use or just plain bad luck.
Bad luck does happen you know - not everything is someone's fault.

A rubbing/squeaking noise probably isn't a wheel bearing, are you sure it's that. When you say turn the wheel are you talking about it with the car jacked up and you spinning it?
Took the car into today.Got it booked in, apparently not wheel bearings, not the centre column rubbing, not anything hanging off or broken......
Basically when you turn the steering wheel when its under load i.e touching the ground it makes a rubbing noise which whilst doing the same thing but the car up in the air produces no noise?
Tech said it was ok to drive so will use it when necessary.... so should i make a list of car parts that i've changed I could look into doing the same thing as Esprit.. lol
