Have any PHers been to see Frankie Boyle on his latest tour?

I saw him in Glasgow last sunday - funny man, controversial but funny laugh!

As he said himself, "It's my last tour, I don't give a censored! hehe

Am I the only person that doesn't find him funny? frown I want to like him, but he just seems to try too hard to be like "ohhh i'm scottish, isn't that funny!"

Sounds like folk enjoy his shows so it's all good smile

I would love to go see him.

Went to Russell Howard last December, now he was funny!
Also Dara O'Briain, he was funny, but not as funny as Russell Howard.

I had 4 tickets for Perth this Tuesday but got called away to Italy with work yesterday frown . Stuck them on eBay and made £120 profit. smile gutted to be missing it I think he is a legend. Some friends saw him in Glasgow last week and were pretty shocked at some of his topics!

I'm the same, but I thought I was the only one! Everyone else seems to love him, so I'm happy to accept that he's just one of those folk I don't really get.

I've found myself chuckling at some of his jokes though!

Seen him last time round in carling accademy. 85% of his stuff was straight from Mock the week which was disappointing. Find him very funny though. O'brien looks good from what iv seen of him on DVD.

Saw O'Briain up in Aberdeen the other week, he was okay, more or less was just asking the crowd questions then going on from there...to be honest, found some of the folk in the crowds stories funnier... but yeah, was fine.

Russell Howard is much better though. biggrin

See, mI'm the other way around, much prefer to see Dara O'Briain than Russell Howard, having seen both, would go and see Dara again, not Howard.

I saw Frankie at the King's a couple of weeks ago. He was very funny but very offensive! He makes fun of everyone and everything.

I think a few people in the crowd had only ever seen him on mock the week and they were surprised by just how offensive he was. If you've seen his stand up before, you'll know what to expect.

Definitely worth the £20 a ticket.

I saw him a few weeks ago at the Marcliffe nr Aberdeen, I totally agree, 85% of his material was from mock the week...it was like he was not trying frown Sad.

Went to see him in Oban on Sat. Got to say did not
think he was up to much, most of the material I had
heard before and going by the rest of the audience so
had they.

The problem seems to be not that he isn't funny, just that he's been on TV too much.

I went to see Lee Mack last Wednesday and since I got the tickets before Christmas I've made a point of not watching anything on TV that has him in it in case he's still using some/all of the same material.

Frankie Boyle's material would be harmed by the endless repeats of Mock The Week.
