This GTR is just one of the most impressive things I've driven. I know it's been tweaked to 600bhp but the way it's just behaved on the dry, damp, wet and roads with standing water is mind shaping. And the acceleration..... And the clever diff... And the brakes.... And that screen electronic dial thing... And....
If you haven't get a drive.
I'm going to go to bed a very happy man tonight.

It's too good isn't it. Shouldn't be able to do the things it does. A giant, heavy car that somehow throws off its weight and performs like a much lighter car. .. and then when you are travelling at serious speed and you put your foot down it hunkers down and finds another level, flatters you into thinking you can drive and somehow just builds your confidence. A friend said half a veyron and I think he was right!
Just mad.

It certainly seems to defy physics, but when as a deposit holder I did the Silverstone Academy day, it left me with more questions than it answered.
Was it too good/way over my ablities as a driver -Definately Yes.
Would it be fantastic fun over 3 years-Probably not, with my abilities.
To go after the fun, which his hidden way past what I'm capable of, would I end up killing myself- Quite possibly!
In reality, was I really ready to get rid of the M400- No ( and I couldn't afford to do what N2H did and keep both!)
But impressive? Astonishingly so, and the baby Veyron comment which was touted in several mags is way closer too the truth than anyone could imagine.Any owner can happily sleep with the smug feeling that they have the ultimate allround, real world, supercar.

friends got one,
fun for about a few mintues.
then pretty dull.
Does not handle that well, the electronics keep it in shape.
Under hard braking it's all over the road.
600BHp must be nasty in it, the car cannot put the normal power down as it is.
Fast and fun for the lest talented who want to race other cars on the road but have no skill.
Give me a drivers car any day on the week, ffs even my Clio is more fun

Can't agree with that, with all the aids turned off with my limited ability I still found it a decent handling car (for its size).Unless mine was stuck on half throttle, it also had no trouble whatsoever putting the power down.fun for about a few mintues.

the prob with 2nd hand is the old model with no sat nav.
the new model with sat nav also has many sus tweeks.
When I say it squirmed under braking we were doing speeds I cannot even think of posting.
and then the weight did play a part.
at normal speeds the brakes are amazing.
But a drivers car it is not imho.

Seemed to come down fine from pressing on country road speeds to me, and it's good driver readout seemed to indicate I wasn't hanging around this afternoon. 3rd/4th is brutal.
Sorely tempted as a permanant addition I would say.
Only foibals is the way you can fool it at junctions, the steering wheel boss obscuring the digital speedo repeater and a little bit to overactive good driver light on standard settings.
As it's a fellow member's car out of respect I haven't played with race mode for stability, but can imagine it's a lot of fun with it in Race mode if the suspension and transmission being set are anything to go by....
It's almost a combination of M400 and Quattro, somewhat perfect mix IMHO
