king bd fking xbox has broke.
No picture at all,. Was playing earlier and screen started looking like a monitor when displaying 16 colours. Now when i turn the damn thing on, I get nothing. nada. squelch. zip.
tried both usual HDMI lead and a VGA lead. Guess I need to go searching for a SD component lead.
Unfortunatly not RROD, so guess the towel trick will be happening soon.

Looking at returning my xbox. It is just under 3 years. Tried to force RROD by wrapping it in a thick towel. Only got it to overheat, get 2 red lights after which it worked temporarly.
So without the 3 red lights how much do MS charge to fix?
How much does this compare to cheapest xbox available? The cheapest one I can find is at Argos which is Arcade plus Forza 3, Pure, Lego Batman, And additional black controller (all of which would be ebayed) for £140.

Thought I'd take it into a UPS collection point (caled Mailboxes etc.) - very helpful chap - but cost me £5 for the return 'collection'

DO they not send out a packing box anymore?
I did it all online - so they sent me two emails, one with instructions and the second with a few bits and pieces including the packing label. First email was within 20 minutes, second came within about 6 hours. Yes, you get to pack it yourself (amount of sellotape I used probably equates to a new Arcade 460 anyway).
Don't know if it is different if you ring them up though.

Ordered mine online last last night. Got the emails so will drop it off on Tuesday.Don't know if it is different if you ring them up though.
