Has anybody fitted one and what are the benefits?

I've fitted one and it seems to work. Abosultely no road miles yet.

The benefit is that you don't overcool your oil which can cause all sorts of issues with excessive wear of expensive bits. At least one person on here figured that their engine had an early demise because it was overcooled by light driving on motorways on winter days.

I figured it all makes sense and at £70 + a bit of plumbing; cheap insurance.

See pictures of mine on my web site. I have had to move the stat forward almost against the fuel filler pipe. Where It is pictured it fouled the headers when I put the engine in.

Why thank you Steve! I have read that you get thermostats that fit in the adapter plate. This is not a major problem as I the engine has done over 10K. I just want something o play with as the winter mods are done.
