I was looking at one of these this morning(the green sapphire crystal version)
and was very impressed.I currently have a Omega seamaster chrono diver but thinking of getting something new.
Was also looking at the deepsea but thought it was a bit to chunky.
Do any of you guys have any opinions on the Milgauss????.

Buy one, very classy watch picked mine up last year and wear it a fair bit, btw also have a deepsea but like you say fairly chunky for day to day and as a result don't wear it as much.

Are these available at list price (and not a SS Daytona 'let's move list price up to speculator price' price either) now?

When they first came out the usual suspects tried to make the watch the 'new SS Daytona' and charged a big premium.

However the recession has bitten hard, and with even SS Daytonas becoming available at list... I always liked the green-crystal Milgauss. How much would I have to pay for one, realistically? Second hand not a problem, as long as it's in good condition. I know what to look for with fakes wink

ETA - OK, around £4200. Shame it doesn't have a date, otherwise it'd be a great daily wear, a subtle Rolex that isn't the 'de facto' Submariner that *everyone* wears, and the green crystal model is a bit different.

I can't see any reason why you shouldn't pick one up at list now. Although I had to wait a fair while for mine, they were released in April '07 and I placed a £100 deposit in December '07 but had to wait until September '09 when I collected it and paid the balance of 4k.

I have seen a couple in shop windows over the last couple of months, but I didnt really look at the price. I am assuming as they were part of a well known chain they werent adding a premium (but I stand ready to have my naviety pointed out!). I tried one on when they came out, and they wear big. It was a lovely watch, and as said above not one that would be perceived as the "usual" rolex offering. In the end though, I didnt buy and went for the IWC Ingenieur.
