Reassurance needed - Removing timing cover

Now I've got my crank bolt out and removed the AC pulley I've been trying to remove the timing chain cover. The top seems a bit loose, but the bottom half doesn't seem to want to budge.

I've removed:
AC pulley
Woodruff key
Pulley sleeve
Spacer thing bolt to cover behind sleeve
Oil filler neck
AC compressor bracket
Oil breather
AC belt tensioner
Engine mount brackets
14 x timing cover bolts

The only thing that I can see that is holding it on now is sealant, and possibly some spacers that sit behind the engine mount brackets (do these need to be removed).

Am I just not whacking it hard enough? Don't really want to break ANOTHER thing! lol

I [i]think[\i] these are either threaded onto the bolts that stick out or are part of the bolt. Infact I'm certain as we tightened them on Marks car to try and stop an oil leak.

The spacers are threaded onto the studs so you will need to remove them.

It indeed was the spacers holding the timing cover on still. Had a bugger to remove a couple of them, heating is a bit counter-productive as the alloy spacers just go soft and then you end up rounding them a bit more!

Anyone replaced these with just normal nuts??
