Fitting a new hood
Discussion
Hi all.
I bought a 91 astra gte with a vandalised hood recently and am after ordering a replacement from carhood.com. I am looking for tips on replacing it myself and a mechanic friend of mine are gonna tackle this. Together we have done most things (steady..) but never replaced a convertible hood. Its a power hood on the astra so any help would be great and anything to look out for would be handy as well
Thanks.

A good friend of mine used to do this for a living. It's a fiddley, awkward job that needs absolute precision. Unless you are both very good at this sort of thing, i'd suggest it is completely counter productive to do it yourself. Enquire how much Carhood charge and if it is at all reasonable, my advice is save yourself the time and trouble and get them to do it for you.
