Anyone ever tried one?
My local 'one man band' jewelry shop has just started stocking them and they look rather pleasing.
I realise they use Quartz movements but what are they like build/weight wise?

Particularly like this...and I'm not normally a 'bracelet' man...

P.S. I will be going in to have a closer look at them, but not for a couple of weeks due to business trips. Just thought I'd test the PH waters for opinions

Well, they also do a tourbillon. How do I know? Because it says tourbillon on the face!

£1500 for a chinese Tourbillon! eek

If that's your bag, you'd be better going for the BHI commissioned cheap chinese tourbillon:

Wouldn't be where my money went, though.

Quite like the look of the OP's quartz, though. Kind of reminds me of this with a Milgauss colour scheme.

To be fair, I have the bracelet and they feel chunkier than anything Rolex have ever produced. Worth about £10 IIRC. But if you stuck a Rolex logo on the same bracelet, I'm sure you could flog it for £5,000, they're that chunky. wink

Hi Oily,

I just came across your post on google and was wondering if you ever bought a royal london watch? im looking at them and i like the idea of it being a "british" watch but wanted to know the quality of them? I cant seem to find any quality information from actual customers.

I know its a bit if an old post and its not really car related(although i am into my cars!) but hopefully you can let me know how you got on?

They do a few nice ones

Reading what they have here: http://www.watch99.co.uk/ladies-watches/filter-wat... It looks like they are quite sought after pieces?

I am looking at buying this one: http://www.royallondonwatches.co.uk/Detail.aspx?Pr...

Its a perfect design in my view and looks very james bond'y! Just wanna know if the quality is good and if they are "sought after" before i spend £120 of my hard earnt money!

cheers mate.

Welcome to PH! wavey

I'd personally be looking at a Seiko or Citizen for around £120, which will be (I'm guessing) of better quality in comparison to a Royal London. Also, a Seiko or Citizen would be easier to sell second hand (more popular/sought after) than a Royal London.

Hello there Dave! Nice thread re-awakening wink
I didn't buy a Royal London in the end as I caught sight of the "£50 watch thread" on here and bought a Seiko 5 before buying a :cough: few :cough: others boxedin

I'd agree with above and say for £120-ish I'd (personally) be looking at some Automatic Seikos before buying.

But that is a very nice watch your looking at........

Welcome to PH wavey

Watch out for this part of the site....it can get expensive wink

Interesting...

The word "Royal" is a sensitive one in terms of both company registration and use in the course of business without the permission of the Constitutional Policy Team, this applies to all trading no just registration:

http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gp1....

I can't tell what the Crown they are using is, but it may require permission from the Lord Chancellor's Office.

I wonder if a company flogging £70 watches (that look like they should be £7 on a market stall) is even aware of this...?
