Hi Guys,
Has anyone changed the diff on their wedge for a " taller " gear set than the 3.54 on the majority of cars ?
we are transplanting a 302 into a Rover engined wedge and have a perfectly good 4 speed gearbox for this engine but the thing will be doing 20.2 x 5500 = 110 mph ie screaming its nuts off !
has any one changed either tyres or diff ratios ? I think someone said the xjs v12 diff is a swop with a 3.07 gear set.
any help as usual !
Regards
Braveheart

The Jag XJs had several diff ratios available, all of which should fit.

Some bigger Wedges (SEAC) had the option of a higher ratio, the 3:07 that you've mentioned I think was the one.

ETA: Oh, and as high as (approx) 2.88 was available, but probably pretty rare.

If the 3.73 swap works, any gear ratio desired is available at Summit Racing.
