z4 tuning advise?
Discussion
With your user name I'm sure you must have considered 'charging it in some way or another?
A supercharger on a 3.0 should see Z4M power levels.
Otherwise it's cheaper to swap to the 3.0si or Z4M - and neither of those options should affect resale or insurance premiums as much as modifying a standard 3.0.

Better off changing it for the Z4M if you need some extra oompf, least you can rid yourself of the hateful runflats and dodgy steering too + benefit of the later model improvements in build quality (roof latch deletion, additional sound deadening and waterproofed roof motor).
Yes and no..I used to have a ESS supercharged Z4, with 370bhp and lots more torque than a Z4M, available from just 1800rpm compared to 5000rpm in the ///M
The Z4 3.0 is also 100kg lighter than the Z4M. I've had a few drags with friends and I could quite easily pull away from the ///M.
Never had problems with traction, car was extremely well damped, where as the Z4M seems to have real issues unless 100% dry, probably down the rubbish Continental tyres.
That said, the Z4M does have more character, nicer feel to the steering too, well except for the fat steering wheel. But the 3.0 doesn't attract ///M parts & servicing "tax", so much cheaper to run.
Any question, just ask.
