Can anyone please tell me what George Lucas used for the sound effects on anikins pod racer? I know its a random assed question, but its a rather awsome sound, and im sure its some kind of older F1 car.

Anyone even point me in the right direction? Google has failed me, or im just useless frown

I always thought it sounded kind of like a modern day jet, say a 747 with engines running, but i have never tried to find out exactly what it was, sorry

Well if you listen to a sound clip of it, you can clearly hear its revving really fast through the gears, nothing like a jet engine spooling up. I just NEED to know which bloody eara of F1 its from!

Oh and the misus is in the "new and interesting" stage, not the "i want to kill her" stage wink

So it seems, they used a variety of sounds, motorbikes, warbirds, electric toothbrushes and a few others i have forgotten already, but the bit you are refering to would presumably be a motorbike HTHsmile

Pod sounds were made from race cars, boats, warbirds, electric tooth brushes, shavers, motorcycles, rockets, and helicopters.

the sounds probably had several effects used on it to make the sound unique.
