Hi all,

I have an old Ipod nano and an iphone.

My iphone is synced with my laptop but wondered if i can use the old nano as well.

My new car has an ipod lead and i dont want to use the iphone but wondered if it is possible to have both 'pods' on the laptop?

Will i lose all the songs on the old nano when i plug it in (this isnt really an issue - but wondered if it could be avoided?)

Thanks,

Woza.

I have two ipods on my computer, My 16GB Nano for carrying around and an old 6GB nano/mini for the car stereo, I haven't plugged them both in at the same time but itunes differentiates between the two devices and it automatically syncs different playlists to each one when they connect

You can, I have an iPhone and 3 iPods all work on iTunes with only mu 1 account. iTunes will recognise each independently, the only setting I change as a matter of routine is to disable auto-sync.

yes

I have an iPhone, 5th gen iPod, and an iPod Shuffle and all work with the same PC and the same library.

As above, disable auto-sync, and create two playlists, 1 for each device.
Select the corresponding playlist for the connected "Pod", and hit the sync button - job done.
Change playlist contents in iTunes when you fancy a change of songs, by either replacing the songs in the playlist, or only checking those you want to use, up to the maximum size you can fit.

Don't have to disable automatic sync, iTunes can recognise which iPod is connected and update each one accordingly, automatically
