Another 'Which Camera' thread.
Discussion
OK guys, I'm looking for my first digital SLR and need some guidance.
My main interest will be pictures of cars at LeMans (on track) and on various meetings/hoons.
I've spoken with a few photographers and (hopefully) after taking their comments on board, have come up with the following deals.

Not sure about the deals, but I have a 50D and I'm very happy with the results it give me.
I have spent some money on glass as well as the final picture probably depends as much on glass as the body and I've got the 24-70 L and 70-200 L both f2.8 which are brilliant and take far better pictures than I deserve

It will be, any canon lens follwed by an L will be expensive, but ver good. Its generally accepted to be a good idea to invest more in lenses then in bodies, as a good lens will last a last time whereas you may well replace a body in a few years time when the tech has moved on. This doesent mean you have to go for canon L glass though, plenty of "normal" canon lenses will be great as well, and you may also want to take a look at the likes of sigma, i'm very happy with my sigma lens, and there EX range is pretty highly regarded.
There is almost an argument here for a used body and a better used lens. See my link on the portrait lens thread as t0 where to look for good kit. I found the 75/300mm zoom on a Canon 300D to be a bit short for many shots and, thinking back, I much preferred using my 500mm cat lense with a x.5 converter, although that was then a bit dingy through the viewfinder.
