Over €1000 for a 'suit holder'?
WTF?
Anyway, ecurie25 have one of these on order, so it's just a waiting game now until i can get my driving shoes on and take this to north wales and back...
That'll probably cost me a year's points, but who cares, it's bound to be simply epic.
Ferrari wouldn't release a car bearing the GTO moniker without getting it absolutely spot on...

FWIW I don't think the options are especially expensive TBH - nor the car. That's about the going rate I suppose for a sporting 12 Cylinder - LP670 is about the same.
Not impressed by pics or the even the real deal. I was able to see some pre-production cars in Maranello last month and was totally indifferent to the way they looked and sounded.
What I really object to though is, that this car is fake GTO. A GTO homologated for nothing, with optional "suit holder". Nice.

I think all ferraris modern options lists are a disgrace and frankly it makes me resent the brand as simply a piss take
As someone who can just about afford these cars I resent the total lack of value that they offer. I appreciate that they've got to make money but what about having a degree of respect for someone who is writing out a 300k cheque, surely you can give them a break and reduce your ludicrous mark up on stripes, caliper paint etc
Makes me really frustrated
Personally I wouldn't buy a new one, I'll let someone else take the hit and own one ina few years

I know it all relative, but even the electrical doodads are on the pricey side, Ferrari buy in the electrical system just like almost every other manufacturer out there, so there is absolutely no way that an iPod lead being plugged into the iPod socket already built into every loom, should cost a thousand Euros, even half that amount is IMHO excessive. As for calling it GTO?
as other have pointed out, its a road car, not a homologation special, so why not name it something new, instead of raping the past for purely marketing purposes................ I'm sure its going to be a fabulous car to drive and I'm sure the owners will be very happy with them, but its just a 2/3 life span upgrade.Cactussed said:
Agreed. Its a 599 with a body kit and some matt black wrap. Still a nice car but hardly worth of the moniker IMHO.
I agree with you (looks wise and on the badge) but to be fair it has got a lot of technology and performance crammed in. In a similar vain is the SV really worthy of its badge? One could suggest that all that is a murci with rear wing and matt black front bumper. Will be interesting to see the price of a GTO and SV when the successive model comes out.

FFS Ferrari is running a business like any one else - you can hardly expect them to fit accessories based upon marginal costsRegarding the car itself - I've seen it and was very impressed. In fact everyone I know who has seen it was impressed and is going ahead with their orders
People saying “it’s just a bit more power and some body kit” are obviously entitled to their own opinions, but frankly none of these people have seen the car and none of them have it on order so aren’t really in a position to comment at this moment.
Why not wait till the launch next week and then have rational discussion once you have seen more pictures and details of the car performance?
I think Traxx is right, i didn't really like the look of the new R8 spyder from pictures that i saw, didn't look right, but now i have seen one on the road my opinion has changed, they do look ok.
Pictures don't do the car justice sometimes, and i think the 599GTO is one of those cars.
Looks wise i think it is like a conti GT (if you can compare the two) so many around they start to look ordinary, with a design tweak that isn't huge, - like the SuperSports version of the conti, it makes you interested again....

However relating to the car itself - I'm not convinced and according to your criteria, I'm in every position to make that judgement, as I've seen it in the metal, been through technical specifications relating to it, and even heard it in real life. And I will NOT be ordering it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I'm sure you're a nice chap Traxx but aren't you making a few slightly condescending 'assumptions' about people making their comments here?
More to the point, I do NOT believe that my (or anyone else's) previous record of car ownership, or what I currently have on order, make my opinion any more or less valid than someone who has owned a skateboard and can't afford 20 year old Ford Fiesta.
Going off on a tangent, I do believe that Ferrari's regular customers (myself inc) are not sufficiently discerning about Ferrari's new products which is why Ferrari keep throwing technology at their new cars at the expense of involvement. One of my pals on PH who has an F50 and CGT says, if it's not fun to drive slowly, it's not worth buying. I can help think that the GTO is a little cynical.
Sorry for rant and no offence intended.
This ^^^ is exactly why I prefer the LP560-4 to the 458.
The Lambo is a more 'raw' driving experience - the 458 seems to be a little too computer controlled for me.
I'll have an LP560-4 Spyder please. In Manual flavour.
And yes, i've driven both. The Lambo quite a lot, the 458 a few laps of a well known Italian test circuit.
Oh, and i've also seen the 599 GTO in the metal, and i think it looks incredible, and sounds...well......not as good as expected.
