Camp At Le Mans With PH

1st-Tickets and PistonHeads release more pitches for the 2010 24H.

Good news and bad news from PistonHeads and 1st-Tickets today regarding our camping at the 2010 Le Mans 24 hours.

The bad news (for anyone who wanted to book) is that our private camping area is now full, and we'd like to thank all those who have booked a place and look forward to seeing you there.

But we have good news, too, as today we have released a block of pitches on our second camping area at Bleu Nord. It does lack some of the facilities offered on the private camping, but naturally this is reflected in the price and the 1st Tickets team will work just as hard to ensure you have a great stay with us.

The Package includes:

Standard camping on Bleu Nord (five mins to the circuit) with other PHers

Channel crossing of your choice

General admission ticket

Reserved 7m x 5m pitch

Showers and toilets

Pitches will be offered on a first come, first served basis. For more information and to book please see the website.

PH is really looking forward to this year's Le Mans, and we hope that a few of you can join us on site.

Paul - why don't PH book a hotel (read TAKE OVER) for PHer's? I'm pretty sure you would have it booked in 10 seconds flat!

I know it's Le Mans but still...not too keen on camping in tents myself, having done a fair share of it in my childhood.

A hotel? I stayed in a rented house one year and felt I missed out on a lot of atmosphere. Although it was a rainy year so the hot showers and dry bed was a bonus I went back to a tent the next year.

However, if demand is there.......?

Hmmm slightly concerned about the camping bit, Is it compulsory that we have to be camp? I might be able to do it for an evening, but a whole weekend?

That aside there is something quite surreal about waking up in the wee hours and hearing the cars racing just yards from your comfy sleeping bag - I felt slightly guilty.

Anyone going to the Le Mans classic?

Much more my tasse de thé than watching diesel cars - just not cricket. and diesel doesn't smell anything like as nice as comp fuel!

Just booked, will be on the 7.30 ferry Wednesday, anyone else on this one? Haven't been to Le Man since 2005 and have forgotten the programme for the week before. Does anyone know when the drivers parade in Le Mans town is and which days the mulsanne is open for driving on?

I've just been talking to Brian at 1st tickets. Sounds like it is really coming together, expecially with the the super special bit of kit he has just bought to make my camping life just that bit better

I'll keep testing it everyday up until June. Had a very ropey Cappucino at the Flexi Plus bit at Eurotunnel. DD if you can bring the machine from work as well that will increase capacity and throughput :wink.

Just supping a nice cold Desperado in the hotel room at Arnage. Will keep you posted with outcome of meeting with ACO etc over the next couple of days.

Whoa there, beware the whingers who will now appear saying that the extortionate prices are paying for your hotel and beer! They'll have visions of you being hand fed grapes and being washed ala "Coming To America" in a bubble spa.

You move the aston garage, I'll bring one of the machines from work. Well I'll let you bring it I doubt I'll have room!

It's ok Vette_1978, the Hotel B&B is not that grand at all (just a small step up from a Formula One). Only way of having a spa or jacuzzi would be to try and block the shower plug hole and blow bubbles through straws from MacDonalds. The only running water sound is when someone upstairs flushes the loo!

Meetings with ACO and suplpiers going well so far more to come tomorrow
