New Router and wireless card.
Discussion
I've got a Toshiba Satellite laptop with an internal wireless card. It's over 4 years old now and the wireless connection is truly rubbish. I'm already in an area with a very low speed broadband connection, but the number of drop outs I get is making the the internet almost unusable.
I thought I'd try a new router and am looking at a N or N+, if not to improve the speed, to improve the connectivity. I understand that to get the benefit, I need to replace the card in my laptop. I'd really like to keep the card internal and would like pointers on which card to get. My laptop has two antennas and I'm hoping that those in the know could point me in the direction of what I need.
(Or indeed if I'm barking up the wrong tree!)

if internal, then you are likely to be barking at that tree as it is unlikely that toshiba have an alternative.

It's a Satellite M60-164. So it's not as easy as a trip to the experts at PC World to get a new card!
If it is the internal one you want to replace then unlikelyhttp://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/...
You could get a cardbus type II ir an expresscard for wifi to fit in the side of the laptop
http://www.netgear.co.uk/rangemax_wirelesscard_lap... it sits out a littel bit
You may also find just changing your router to something like http://www.netgear.co.uk/dgn2000.php (assuming you have ADSLwill help make your problems go away

Many thanks for the reply. I think I'll get one of the cards you've highlighted and just slot it in the side. Then get a new router.
who ever you buy it from make sure you say " I have this laptop and I want a wireless card for it" I hate PC cards , there are a few versions so just make sure you can take it back to them if it doesn't work
