TV Guide Says

Ask the Chancellors
Following the announcement of the budget, Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling and his Conservative and Liberal Democrat counterparts George Osborne and Vince Cable debate with each other and face questions about their policies from a studio audience, as well as presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy

This should be 'interesting'
Someone get the popcorn,
You over there get the calculator,
The rest of you bring spades, we're gonna need to clean up the Political Bullscensoredt after this.

Hope Guru-Murthy is firm and doesn't give Vince the cable an easy time. Granted Cable is a competent economist however too often journalists and interviewers let him get away with his 'oh I was the only one who predicted the economic crash etc etc' line unchallenged.

Interesting to see if Boy George can step up to it tonight.

C4 news just had Polly Toynbee on apparently as a neutral journalist, though that could hardly fool anybody - particularly when the old socialist adopted a thoughtful countenance and deadpanned that Labour were winning the economic argument. Hilarious.

I have biscuits, if that's any help.

You. Put your knickers on and make me a cup of tea.

Cable's probably going to sound good. Darling makes my skin crawl. Haven't seen much of Osborne, but he delivered his opening pitch without fking it up.

Question: What are YOU going to cut.

Darling: ducks dives and answers a completely different question

Osbourne: confirms there will be cuts, mentions cuts of up to a 3rd to Whitehall and family benfits

Cable: cuts to military

The Conservative NI cut isn't a cut it's a reversal of a Labour increase, the same error was outed on BBC R2 this afternoon.

Osborne messed up the LAbour savings/NI stuff but you could see his point (ish). Darling is losing but I'd have to say that Cable looks far too sensible....well in some ways. Maybe he's just the most honest.
