Deployment for a Santos 100 ?

A pal needs a replacement deployment for his Cartier Santos 100 which is on the correct leather strap.
Apparently, Cartier charge something like £250 just for this part, which is patently ridiculous.
Does anyone know where he can source one, either a 'pre-owned' one or a decent 'equivalent' ?
