Malicious pikey robbing gypos

A recent craze with the price of copper double what it was last year has lead to a rise in opportunists digging cables up out of the ground, tying it to a back of a Transit or simular and proceeding to rip as much cable as possible out of the ground. Trouble is the recent spate in Leeds and yesterday in my neck of the woods has left them penniless as these thick dumbasses living in the dark ages do not realise they are ripping up glass fibres worth.......f
k all.
Massive inconveniece for those affected as this is the 2nd time this month I and 1k's of others been minus a broadband connection.
I hear the main issue here is BT laying the cables too shallow making it more of an attractive target.
Anyone else in Beds/Herts affected again?

Funny.
I've seen the same sort of people working for a cable tv installer in ireland use exactly the same method to install fibre in the first place.
Attach pull cord to cable, attach other end of pull cord to tow hitch of transit and drive off down the road to pull cable through the duct work!
For those that don't know, fibre should be pulled in at a constant pressure to ensure the glass in the fibre is not damaged.
That was the same time that I saw a couple of lads out on a joyride - on one of the site mini diggers!

You see if Police actually were allowed to patrol they might at least stop some of this happening
Too difficult. Far easier to use cameras to prosecute the drivers of properly registered and insured cars.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
