No disrespect......but you are putting us IT guys in an awkward place. A place like sadville.

FFS you really need to get out more.

I voted. I clicked the dislike button, I'm afraid. Sorry. It's not a great anecdote.

It's nearly on the level of the "Can you open another window?" one....

I clicked the "what the hell is this thread about?" button as I can't see what it is about, can someone explain?

So far I have "Vote For A Fellow PH'er Please!" and " confused " and a few semi-insulting posts.

What is going on? am I missing something?

Would you care to elaborate on that please, because as a parent I find that offensive.

He wondered whether you have any need of an avuncular babysitter as he offers competitive rates.

once overheard a service desk call about a user who had trouble putting CD's in her CD drive, it apparently kept pinching her fingers. Out of curiosity I took the call and visited the user and asked her to give me a demonstration. I couldn't stop laughing when I found out another colleague had fitted her a new CD drive the day before and had put it in upside down! It was the funniest thing to watch, an IT version of Open All Hours and the cash register scene!!

I dont get it?

Pinching her fingers? how?? Al she would do would be to put it in and watch as it gets caught in the mechanism?

I haven't voted and I consider that to be the most ethical thing to do given the totality of the circumstances.
