Top Ball Joint Removal

Quick question...

As I have taken all of tthe suspension off my cerb to shot blast and replace all of the bushes...I am gonna replace the ball joint too...

Getting round to this stage now...was cleaning up the hubs last night...now the ball joint needs to come off...it looks just the same as the one on my Chimaera...but looks like it sits in a mounting attaching it to the top of the aluminium casting...so do I need to remove the four allen bolts...to gain access to the bolt holding in the ball joint...or am I missing something?

Pluus has anyone got a PDF with all of the torques settting for suspension...the one I got off here was invaluable when I did the chimaera...?

Yes you need to remove the four hex nuts - ball jointed allen key is best. Underneath the round plate is the nut holding the ball joint to the plate.

To get the bearing and hub with the studs on away from the aluminium upright you need to remove the three big allen bolts and then bang it out possibly with quite a bit of force.

Will replace top and bottom ball joint (have a spare bottom brand new ball joint if anyone needs one and one of the better new thermostat's) but I will leave the wheel bearings in situ...they are fine...

Bottom ball joint is a pig to remove! Liberal use of mallet required!

Know what you mean about lower one...split the rubber on one of them getting them off...getting round to putting her back together....small detail of fitting a new clutch and slave to sort, thought it would be best to replaace as so heavy, which means an early one with 26k on it....or on the way out...

Will most likely be at Chatsworth...probably in the chimaera at this rate tho...shame..be good to see your cerbera followed your thread over her rebuild..be good to hook up.
