OK, so I've got XP with media player, Nero, double CD, MP3 and broadband. Where is the best place for either free or best value to start downloading music?

I've found winmx to be good. I'm not aware of any spyware on it and loads of shared files

Blubster was quite good until it developed a bug, which for me, meant that I turned my PC on one day & Blubster just wouldn't connect. S'quite a common problem apparently & it looks like it's creator has lost interest in sorting it out........might be one to check out if just to avoid it.

I use Kazaa Lite at the mo. No spy or adware (allegedly).

I found winmx frustrating because all the stuff I wanted was held up by long queues. I found much more stuff easily accessible using iMesh. You have to pay for it though if you want to avoid the Gator adware.

Thanks! Tried Winmx, well laid out but it took forever to download anything so I went for Kazaa Lite, lifetime membership with DVD access $49.99, you can pay via a Paypal account so it's nice and secure and the beauty of it is that it only works out at 26 quid!!

Works well too.

Lite has absolutely no adverts, less crap to filter though. The free one is a bit like freeserve!

Limewire (limewire.com) seems reliable and has no spyware.

Kazaa doesn't appear to be free anymore unless I'm missing something?

Kazaa Lite K++ is completely free and the only one of the Kazaa's still worth having.

Soulseek for music
Kazaa Lite K++ and eMule for Software and Films...

We just missed each other I think.

I had to take the young lady home as getting a high chair etc in that pub would have been a nightmare...
