Well I'm stumped,

Trying to find something to do on Friday as we've both (unusually) got a day off at the same time, will need to be a fairly cheap day, say £100 tops and we're in Hitchin, Herts.

Current thinking involves maybe getting the train to London and going to the IWM, and having a beer/some lunch somewhere. We were thinking of jumping on the ferry and spending the day in France, but it's far too bloody expensive to go over on Friday!

In the past year or two we've been to the Science Museum, Duxford, Shuttleworth, HMS Belfast, Tower, Eye etc so I'm sort of looking for something maybe slightly different/left-field that I wouldn't normally come up with.

It doesn't need to be confined to London/Herts, we're prepared to travel.

Any ideas?

how about going to the snowdome in milton keynes and learning to ski/snowboard? Or, what about a gliding lesson at dunstable gliding club, which is at the bottom of the dunstable downs?

I'm not sure what the weather is meant to be like on Friday but if it is fair

Go to Greenwich and check out the National Maritime Museum at the bottom of Greenwich Park

Then pop into the park and have a picnic or lunch somewhere in Greenwich

Walk up the hill in the park to the Royal Observatory and see the Meridian Line etc

Both are free and Greenwich Park is lovely

After this you could enjoy a river boat back to Waterloo for your train
