Exige S1 Wanted

Hello,

I've put an advert in the classifieds, but thought I'd throw it open
to see if anyone has any leads:

Exige S1 wanted by a private buyer.

Must have:
Sports seats/harnesses (preferably in black)
190 Engine Upgrade
Lotus/Indi Full Service History

No preferences on colour.

I've owned several of them in past & want to get back into one

Be prepared to wait..... good spec ones like that have become pretty rare on the market in the past year or so..... they're getting thin on the ground.

Most of them that come up for sale tend to appear either here or on www.exiges.com so just keep your eyes peeled.

There are a fair few motivated buyers though, so if one comes up, don't hang around because the good ones don't hang around for more than a moment.

Other than that (and I'm sure you know), buy on quality and structure. A higher mileage one that's been looked after is better than a low mileage one that's been used less pamperingly.

Thanks Guys - I was a member of Exiges.com many years ago when I had my first S1 and it is a mine of information - I suspect the onset of spring will bring a few out for sale...

Thing is with S1 Exiges they've definitely become the target of collectors, so most of the ones that sell these days go to owners who want them permanently or very long term (effectively removing them from circulation).... this has meant many less available for sale (making it harder to get one in the right spec) and has forced the price northwards.

Mine's in that category and won't be for sale for a looooong time... I'd sell both my kidneys and a lung before I sold the Exige

Both of those car's aren't really in the spec I'm after (+ the silver car does look a little tired in the photo's) - will hop over to exiges.com for a read

There's a couple on car and classics too.

There were quite a few around for sale last year... but over the last couple of years I've noticed that there are a lot less ads for both Exiges and 340Rs and decent ones with good specs don't seem to hang around for long. Something pretty serious is going to have to happen to prize the Exige outta my hands and most cars now seem to have landed into the hands of long term owners, racers, or collectors.
