Can anyone point me in the direction of a good landy forum to ask tedius technical questions about my defender such as about water ingress and changing that annoying seal under the windscreen

Leaks are pretty normal. Water in and oil out, if it doesn't do either it needs taking to a Land Rover specialist to see what's up. biggrin

Like any british classic car, if it doesn't leak oil then you need to fill it back up. As for water, if it's not getting in you aren't driving it through a river/in the rain.

yep between windscreen frame and bulkhead top if this seal goes water runs down inside of the bulkhead

I believe mine is now shot. Been getting a lot of water in the wells and its obviously been happening for a while becuase when I took the passenger speaker pod off it mostly consists of rust so i'll need to source a new one

without taking more of the dash to bits I believe its coming in through the windscreen hinge/fasteners and that long seal. so first job is to change that. I believe its a case of undo the screen hinges and all along the sides so the roof can be shifted enough to change the seal
