Dash removal to get at heater matrix
Discussion
I'm pretty sure this topic has been discussed before on these pages, but my search using the Adam Quantrill method for "dash removal" hasn't produced what I'd hoped to see.
It appears my heater matrix is leaking, some antifreeze travelling along either side of the transmission tunnel and into the footwells. Most, thankfully, just found a way out and onto my garage floor, likely by way of the gear shifter area.
All this happened last fall. Bypassed the heater core and tucked the car away for the winter. Now time to confront the problem.
The car in question is a 1980 Tasmin FHC, chassis #23.
Could someone advise as to the number of bolts holding the dash in position? I've read that there are two bolts, one situated at one side of the steering column, and the other around the glovebox. But I've also read that there may be as many as five bolts holding the dash in place.
I do know that the radio console has to come out, and that the steering column will have to be dropped.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Paul
