Am surprised that this hasn't been posted already... Seems like we are approaching dangerous ground here, wonder how many people will acquiesce

The reasons given in the article for him not leaving are deep into the land of the non-sequitur. The very worst thing for the Pound is the idea that there'll be a socialist in No.10! Whether or not he's got Comrade Cable or Comrade Balls working as his side-kick is a secondary consideration.
It will be hard to eject him from Downing Street even in the unlikely event the Tories get a landslide. He'll block himself in his bedroom and only be removed by force.

When Brown went to the Palace, I think something happened.
No-one said anything, as you would expect, but he was there for too long. I suspect he and/or she had difficulty with the part where he had to "serve" the queen. I'm fairly sure that Brown doesn't like the queen much.
Clearly he's the PM now, but if there's a hung parliament it'll be an interesting twist.
He has to choose. He can either go with what he wants and stay on, or he can give it all up ignoring the rules.
If he stays on, then at some point he will have to suffer "dismissal" by the queen.
If he leaves, he's got to give up what he wants most, against the rules.
Unless he gets a majority he's going to be a loser.
Delicious.

Can't we just send the military in?
Didn't MI5 draw up plans in the 70's against the Wilson government? Let's hope they are doing the same now. A decent coup d'etat would be great, and if they decide to put the government in front of a firing squad, I wouldn't complain.
And sell the rights to endemol. Pay per view would be through the roof.Didn't MI5 draw up plans in the 70's against the Wilson government? Let's hope they are doing the same now. Hmmm, have we got any soldiers actually in the country any more?Didn't MI5 draw up plans in the 70's against the Wilson government? Let's hope they are doing the same now. A decent coup d'etat would be great, and if they decide to put the government in front of a firing squad, I wouldn't complain.
How often has the military been deployed overseas since Labour got in?
Just a thought.
If Brown barricades himself into number 10 and shouts "you're not takin' me alive!" I think that would be fine with most people. A fitting end to the most hated prime minister in Britain's history that he should be the first PM to leave Downing Street dead.

Wouldn't it be easier just to barricade the t

We must have a few laser guided bombs that can be used in a precision strike on No. 10?

Edited to add, hello GCHQ!

I just had a mental picture of South Park's "trapped in the closet", with Cameron and the police in No.10, and Brown, Nick Clegg, and the Greens all locked in the cabinet office, refusing to come out.

The polling is run by Peter Kellner, the company’s president, who is married to Baroness Ashton, the senior Labour peer appointed Britain’s European commissioner by Gordon Brown. Several Tory supporters also hold senior positions at YouGov.
Why am I not surprised!I recommend these guys, would go down in history as the best TV moment ever.
