Recommend me a mini-Honeymoon
Discussion
Gents/Ladies
I am getting married in May, and looking to take a week break straight after. Initially, we had planned to go to Vegas for three days, then drive to/around California for three weeks. Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to do that in May, but are hopeful we can in September-ish.
So, we've compromised on a week away somewhere warm in May, perhaps a beach holiday. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel (4* upwards), in a warm location (30's?), for around £1100 for two people? And maybe recommend who to book it with?
We'd like the Algarve but flights from the North West don't seem to suit us, we need to go Monday-Monday (or Tuesday to Tuesday). We've been to Sharm and don't fancy that again. Cyprus maybe? Ideally we'd like a Villa, but we're struggling to find anything. Last year we went to The Algarve, stayed in a beautiful villa, for £1200 all in, including a hire car!
Any thoughts appreciated!

Chap who works for me just came back from a week in Morocco - all-inclusive at the Royal Atlas at Agadir. He said it was a fantastic place, and they had a couple of proper restaurants not just buffet-stuff. Not sure if that'll fit the budget though...
See, I fancied Morocco but Mrs Arese-to-be doesn't.
Thanks

Malta?
Hurgada? All the benefits of Sharm (water, weather, water) without a lot of the downsides (hassle, hassle, Russians, hassle).
Or, leftfield suggestion: Seychelles.
Yes, Malta. We both quite fancy that so, or Gozo, so I'll do some searching now.Hurgada? All the benefits of Sharm (water, weather, water) without a lot of the downsides (hassle, hassle, Russians, hassle).

I hadn't thought about Hurghada, good shout, I'll look into that too.
Seychelles might be a bit of a long flight for a week, but I'll see what she thinks.
Cheers

Just priced up:
Return Flights to Malta
Car Hire for 1 week
Ferry to Gozo
This Villa
£875 all in!
EditJust checked Zanzibar on Kuoni's website and it seems to be around £2500 for both of us for the week. Looks beautiful though.

It is. But it's also VERY remote and not the sort of place you'd go walking around the villages (they've not got windows in some houses, let alone mains electric or water). Plus the boats they use to take tourists out on snorkelling trips etc. look rather heath-robinson...we saw a few of the guys who own them bailing merrily at the end of each day-trip!
(Oh, and it's a ~10hr flight and IIRC there's none direct from the UK, so you'll either go KLM via Schipol or Air Kenya (
