My mate lives across the road, and one of my GF’s cats is entering his home and pissing everywhere before leaving. The scenario isn’t a new one, and they don't know what to do to prevent the cat from returning.

They have their own cats, which probably explains the need to urinate there I'd imagine.

Does anyone know of any proven methods or have any suggestions on how to prevent a determined feline from wizzing in, or indeed from entering other peoples premises repeatedly?

Citrus scented products near/around the cat flap should deter them... The only drawback is that the neighbours cats will hate it too!

More seriously, how about an electric cat flap which only opens for his moggies?

This is the easiest way, an electric catflap that reads a chip on the legitimate cat's collar and lets him in but no others!

Until your cat mugs it and steals the collar...

Not sure if they want their cats collared, or not. Im guessing not or they wouldnt be at their wits end. They border onto woods with plenty of branches and whatnot about, providing all sorts of snagging or collar losing opportunities. I'll ask him.

Collars these days have a breakaway link to stop cat strangling incidents!

The best of the electric cat flaps read the cat's identity chip so no collar is needed.

Are their cats id chipped, if so no need for collars get a cat flap that reads the cats chip number, Sureflap is the main company that do them.

Bit of a cost in initial outlay but got to be better than cleaning up cats piss or potentially replacing carpets etc.

I own a hat, not a cat. And a rat. (The rat bit is a lie)
