That would have cleared a few bowels out.

To be honest, if you talk to most peoples' grandfathers they can tell you more than one story of a Brit blowing himself or mates up with badly thrown grenades. It is sadly not uncommon. It's also one of the legitimate arguments for keeping women off the front line. You wouldn't want one of those bad boys being lobbed underarm and back towards your chaps. biggrin

Reminds me of the last time I went ten pin bowling. Petite lass with us forgot to let go of the ball.

Was a bit like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW31IanJiAM

I was involved in an accident that was caused by a woman fumbling/girly throwing a grenade on a live firing range in Kenya back in 2000. (Grenade Hand HE L2A2 for those in the know). The Kenyan doctor was very surprised when I described the size and shape of the fragments to him as he looked at the X-rays. I still have the fragments in my neck to this day.

Reminds me of the bit in The Thin Red Line where the soldier grabs the grenade by the pin.

Unrelated, but this linked video is quite amusing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8482877....

Has anyone posted the French rocket launcher one yet? It basically drops to the floor as it comes out the launcher and they run like f___.

Also the Middle Eastern gentleman 'trying out' a rifle of some kind and almost knocking himself over with it.

And non military, there's loads of youtube clips of lasses in the US being give BFO hand guns to fire which are arguably too powerful for them. One in particular sees a poor bint knocked on the head by a desert eagle or similar.

Numbers advantage yes, but guess who can move their forces where they need to be in the world the best of the two.....the British, by far.

To be honest, flying 50 blokes without any kit and 100 accompanying health and safety officials can be done with a few clicks of a mouse at www.easyjet.com. Moving 20M odd would take a little more work. biggrin

To be fair to him though, the rifle he is firing uses this ammunition:

I imagine it has a bit of a kick.

Guy I work with got caught in a similar accident whilst in the British Army about 8 years ago.

He was the instructor, and saved the traniees life with his actions. He was seriously hurt and it ended his career.

Just got his compensation payout, which was a rather LOT of money.
