I am currently moping over a girl. I won't go into details here though. I'm in the mood for some sad and bitter love songs to go with my crate of beer and 20 Marlboros.

Get Sea Change by Beck. Was written during a harsh break-up and it shows.

bob dylan: idiot wind, if only for the chorus

Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your mouth,
Blowing down the backroads headin’ south.
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth,
You’re an idiot, babe.
It’s a wonder that you still know how to breathe.

I always go for a blast in the car myself. Whilst out driving it seems like I can take the time to think about stuff, eveything seems easier with the engine revving away.

This only applies if that crate of beer is still a full crate!

It's not that sad, but it's quite bitter:

Oh yes, definitely. I just had to play the album again, it's got to be one of the very best ever recorded by anyone. Actually, there are loads of Dylan bitter songs: Positively 4th Street, for example

Makes "Love Will Tear Us Apart" sound like "Happy Birthday". All 9 minutes and 49 seconds of it, ache.
