Hi all

My first ever posting on here and my beloved Westie is sold :-( The chap who's bought it from me also took my spare Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels as well and wants to put them on the car. The problem is, I can't find the tool to remove the locking wheelnuts on the westfield wheels that are already on the car..... nightmare !

Can anyone advise how I might get them off without the use of one of those tools that Halfords sell which don't get very good press at all on their website !

Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

The Halfords tools only work if you are very lucky, and the tool can cut a perfect thread.

I got mine off with a 12 point socket and a hammer, after wasting money on the Halfords tool. A 18mm worked fine for my 19mm nuts, after a bit of work.

Last time I needed to do this I hammered an impact socket on. Job done.

I took my Subaru to Abbey Motorsport in Oxed, after the Gorilla in the tyre bay snappen both my pronged locking keys with his impact gun. Fool. He looked at me like Goofy and denied using a gun when challenged. Told me he couldn't get the punctured wheel off and go elsewhere. I drove 2 miles with a flat to Abbeys who took 6 minutes to remove all 4 locking nuts and replace with normal ones for £20. Most decent tyre depots will get them off for you, just don't go and see Goofy in the Oxted Motorstore.
