Morning all,

I am looking for a nice 535D but I am having real difficulty in tracking one down and I was wondering if you lot knew of a nice one for sale? This is my ideal spec:

Le Mans Blue (Preferable)
Cream Leather (Preferable)
Biscuit/Brown ish Leather (2nd Choice)
Grey Leather (3rd Choice)
Black Leather (Final Option)
Logic7
19in Double M Alloys
Active Cruise
Bluetooth
Heads Up (Optional/Nice to have)

I only have £18Kbut will go on spec and condition rather than year,

Any Ideas?

If you are very specific on spec then all you can do is bide your time until something that floats your boat turns up. And you can guarantee that when it does it'll be either massively overpriced or on the other side of the country!

Agreed. Unless you are buying new you will either have to compromise on spec or wait and hope to get lucky.

Both your interior and exterior colours are fairly uncommon (so many black, grey and silver cars) so your options are significantly restricted already.

HUD or active cruise are not on many £18k E60 535d M Sports either.

If I were you I would be starting with a price and model in mind and see what the best cars are out there - from there start eliminating cars based on age/colour/spec etc.

I can't help think you'll never find a car with such a restrictive search criteria unless you get VERY lucky.

535d's hold a significant premium meaning your 18k wont go very far. You might have more luck if you are prepared to go for a 530d or a 530i.

Hi there

Le Mans Blue (Preferable) - circa £1600 for a very high quality vinyl wrap & you can choose ANY colour!
Cream Leather (Preferable) - You could always either sell off the grey leather if the car comes with one and
Biscuit/Brown ish Leather (2nd Choice) change to a leather interior from a breaker E60 with the colour that you
Grey Leather (3rd Choice) want. Or, £1200-1400 ish for a custom leather retrim & you can choose colours and piping
Black Leather (Final Option) and other bespoke elements to be leathered up if you so wish!!
Logic7 - If no Logic 7, use a JL Audio cleansweep or Audison bit one to clean the standard stereo signal up - then use
aftermarket amplifiers and speakers that will sound significantly better than the Logic7.
19in Double M Alloys - Easy peasy here - sell off the wheels you get and either get genuine M wheels or Good Replica's.
Active Cruise - What's the difference between normal cruise control and 'active' cruise?
Bluetooth - you could, if you're feeling flush retrofit OEM BMW bluetooth in. Or, Use an aftermarket solution for your phone
Heads Up (Optional/Nice to have) - Currently one unit on Ebay for £275 out of a breaker car. Not sure if it can be properly retrofitted though.

As already mentioned, with a very specific set of 'wants' you're probably in for a very very long wait, or if you're lucky one will pop up next week. You just never know! chances are you'll wait 6 months and nothing turns up, compromise slightly and then 2 will turn up the following week! - always the case!

Above though, are some of the things you 'could' do to a slightly differently specced car should one come along that hasn't quite got it all etc. Also there's a whole host of aftermarket goodies you could put on as well for a truly 'individual' spec car !

Cheers, Dennis! West London & Slough UK!

Hold on another 6 months and once the F10s become familiar your £18k will go much much further.

Once the F10 M Sports (especially the 540d M Sport) arrive all the E60's will be falling in price pretty quick as there are so many around.
