Can't help some people.. what shall I do?
Discussion
Ok, here is the story, bit long winded and typed in anger so bear with me.
I had about 9 small packages to send out on Tuesday. I will be having more as I am selling some of my daughters clothes on Ebay. I thought to save time in the post office I would use the royal mails online postage system where you can print the postage off, attach to package and off you go.
So, I did this. There were 2 going abroad via International Signed For, so I printed the customs form and filled in and attached to relevant packages, again to save the time of the counter clerk. There were a couple of normal second class and a couple of recorded delivery (UK) packages and a special delivery.
I went to the counter clerk and said I had some pre-paid packages to send out, she looked at me strangely and asked me to pass them through the counter at the end. She got hold off the packages and gave a big sigh and said "do you have the receipts". I said no, I had printed and paid for them all online using the Royal Mail online postage system. She then grabbed another package and said "what's this one then?" I then replied, that it says under the big 1 on each package what each one is and that one was international signed for". She gave another huff and again asked me for receipts so I repeated what I said previously. At this point, another counter clerk butted in to say that all was ok and they had been paid for. She then proceeded to huff and puff so I said "If its easier, I can come back later to pick up the receipts so you don't have to do them all now" to which she replied "no" in a really attitudy way. Men, you probably know this "no" voice
I then said to her "I only used the pre-pay online postage to save you time" and as I started to say this she started talking over me, so I started talking louder. I can't remember what drivel she said. After I had said I was trying to save her time, she did then mention something about using cellotape on the recorded delivery slips - I took this as a sort of peace offering.
Today I go in there with just one pre-paid recorded UK package. I said "hi", got a blank. Said only one pre-paid blah blah, she just nodded towards the end counter to pass the package through. She then bashed out the details on the system and just chucked the bag into the relevant postal bag, gave me the receipt and said "there you go".
I dont need this s
t when I am trying to help them out. How dare she give me such attitude, and in front of other customers waiting in the queue. She did all the packages and was just chucking them into the relevant postal bags. If she had been politer to me today, I would have let it pass, but I still feel angry with her attitude towards me today and am considiring making a complaint about her.
So do I...
a), make a complaint about her, may as well give her something more to give me attitude about; or
b), don't bother with the pre-paid and when I have more parcels, let them do the hard work and just give her attitude back?
c),ignore it, I am better than that.

Definitely this one. Who is she to you? You dont care about her, therefore she cant hurt you.Next time, simply pass a breezy comment that between lunch with your friends and all the clothes shopping you have to do, you simply dont have time to go online. And thankgoodness there are "people like you" to do all the tricky bits.
Dont forget to call her poppet.

I am a crap actor though and would probably stumble on what I was trying to say lol. But one to think about.
Sit on it and calm down a bit - have a cup of tea and something to eat. Then write an angry letter to a Post Office executive bemoaning her attitude, lack of helpfulness despite you using the new Post Office postage system - Keep it calm, non sweary and constructive while highlighting your disappointment.
Send it via email and/or post (via DHL for irony if you like) and then, if you really want to p
s off fat angry post office woman - print it out and drop it off with her.
I've done this before and I know the person I wrote about got a thorough b
king - It also meant that I am, still, PNG at a certain VW dealership as y'man is now the service manager there.

My hubby had a few issues with this system when he used to use it fo rhis last job. The guys on the counter seemed more peeved than pleased with the set up.
They know that before much longer their role in this process will be replaced with an automated parcel drop point, more people will buy postage online and their jobs will (rightly IMHO) disappear. Don't forget that Royal Mail is a number of completely different companies, so the online postage is almost certainly something to do with another bit of the company than Post Office Ltd. Effectively, its a bit like BMW UK flogging service kits on Ebay, and you rocking up to a main dealer, and them having to do the work for free
Selling actual stamps (or, for the pedants out there, white sticky labels with no real security) will add to their sales targets, either for the cashier, or more likely, the Post Office.
Still write the letter to Alan Cook though

Oh the joys of Post Office staff. I remember paying for postage online for a small parcel, printing it out and taking it to the Post Office near where I used to work. The package was 200g, and the online system had printed the label with 0.200kg.
The thing in the Post Office weighed the parcel on it's scales, and told me I'd made a mistake as it's scales told it that the parcel weighed "0.20kg and not 0.200kg". We then had a brief argument, where it refused to be believe that 0.20 was the same as 0.200 and even 0.200000000.
It stunk of wee too. Thankfully I don't have to go back there.
For anyone that knows the area, this was in Saltney near Chester
